Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland, a 130 year-old, non-
profit organization in NE Ohio, and a major provider of behavioral
health and human services, is seeking a Chief Development Officer.
JFSA has embarked on a series of strategic initiatives to increase its
regional impact and broaden its presence in the philanthropic corn-
munity. The Chief Development Officer will lead the organization in
identifying, cultivating, soliciting, acquiring, retaining and increasing
the number and size of charitable gifts to the organization. This posi-
tion serves as a senior member of the Executive Leadership Team,
assisting the President/CEO in shaping and leading the organiza-
tion's future. This position reports to the President/CEO and collab-
orates with the lay leaders of the Board of Directors. The Chief
Development Officer also heads the Marketing and Development
Department, directly supervising the Marketing and Communications
Manager, the Development Manager, and an Administrative
Assistant.

The Chief Development Officer will market and establish trusts and
bequests, planned giving programs and family philanthropic funds.
The position will identify and strategize approaches to new and
prospective donors and foundations, work on the creation and exe-
cution of an annual campaign and fundraising special events, and
coordinate the annual meeting. The Chief Development Officer is the
agency's primary contact for community and media relations.
