Spotlight Going, Going Gone! The gavel rules as art and memorabilia find loving homes. T he Sisterhood of Adat Shalom Synagogue mixed fine art with plenty of shmoozing at its third annual art auction. The live auction, led by Kurt Dise of the Ross Gallery in New York, fea- tured works by artists such as Renoir, Tarkay, Chagall, Picasso and Agam. Sports and music memorabilia also were offered to bid- ders. Simon from the Vineyards in Farmington Hills offered wine tasting. "We come every year — we love it," said Nancy Liefer of Farmington Hills, who attended with husband, Dennis. "This is a fun night," said Marianne Sacks of West Bloomfield, who attend- ed with her husband, David. "It's something different." "We nearly tripled the amount of people from last year," said Sisterhood President Norma Dorman of West Bloomfield. Proceeds from the evening will benefit synagogue programs. "The event created so much enthu- siasm, we hope to do it again next year," said co-chair Beth Hirsch of West Bloomfield. Among the art aficionados were co- chair Shannon Dickstein, Berton and Renee May, Sharon and Tom Bebovic, Pam and Bill Marcus and Jennifer and Steve Riblan, all of West Bloomfield; Phil and Susan Greenblatt of Birmingham; Sherry Shanbom of Bloomfield Hills; Bonnie and David Otis of Waterford; Danny Victor and Tracy Moen of Sylvan Lake; Michael and Sue Feldman and Rita and Ed Sitron, all of Farmington Hills.
