Detroit JWI Hosts
Midwest Tournament
Last month, 185 women from Detroit
and the Midwest took part in the 57th
annual Jewish Women International
Mid-America Bowling Association
Tournament.
The JWI Bowling Association of
Metropolitan Detroit hosted the tourna-
ment. Carolyn Fine, president of
JWIMABA, and Dana Glinski, vice
president of JWI Detroit, were tourna-
ment co-chairs, and Barbara Geller, a
past president of Detroit MBA, was
scoring chair.
The tournament weekend included
two performances by 25 JWI bowlers,
directed by Sue Lawrence. They were
cast and chorus in /IV/doh based on
the 'American Idol" TV series. The per-
formances featured more than a dozen
acts and bowling-themed songs.
Detroiters won a majority of the
bowling prizes. Detroit teams swept the
top three places in team events, the top
two places in team high game and won
16 of the 24 individual awards.
Dena Wein was installed as the
Detroit representative on the JWI Mid-
America Bowling Association board.
