Dylan and Bacall seemed so far apart in the '60s.
He was the reluctant avatar of the youth rebellion
and she, although only 15 years older than Dylan,

endured the mixed blessing of being enshrined as leg-
ends before age 30, and they've both worked very
hard to have a "second act" — Dylan with good
albums of late and Bacall with a 1997 Oscar nomina-
tion.
