Fisher ("For The Ages," March 10). The publication is world class and done
with such great elegance and taste — and factual. Its both a testimonial and
an educational tool for everyone in the community. You should be very proud,

Max And Dad

I must congratulate you on your magnificent
issue devoted to Max Fisher ("For The Ages,"
March 10). I will always be in awe of what
that man did and stood for. With this letter is

A Worthy Tribute

From the moment you called me asking for assistance in obtaining informa-
tion about the funeral of Max Fisher at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, I was
given a firsthand, behind-the-scenes look at the incredible effort that went into
"For the Ages — From statesman to philanthropist, Detroit's Max M Fisher
leaves a remarkable legacy"
The collective work of everyone who participated in this wondelfid piece
Techner
produced a tribute worthy of Max M Fisher.
The March 10, 2005, issue of the Detroit Jewish News is not only a collector's edition,
but also should be required reading for eve?), Jewish student in our midst. The extensive
story of the life and times ofMax M. Fisher as told in your paper not only is a testament to
this incredible man, but also is a history of modern-day Jewry locally, nationally and
internationally.
Thank you all for a superb effort.

H

appy, Ecstatic, Can't say enough good
stuff...that's Sandy Weiss, who LOVES
Gittleman Construction and the work they do. Her
enthusiasm began 12 years ago when she and
husband Norm embarked upon a major remodel of
their home.

"The minute we met Scott (Gittleman), I felt
comfortable," recalled Sandy.

So comfortable that the couple left everything—
new floors to new walls to new rooms—up to
Gittleman and his team who in 10 months of
renovations, never once failed to deliver.

"He promised I'd get my bedroom back in four
months, and in four months, I got my bedroom
back," Sandy said. "He kept every promise."

Max's Richness

I am expressing my sincere gratitude for all the magnificent work that the great Max Fisher
brought to our world ("For The Ages," March 10). He changed our lives for the better and
in keeping with his very moving tribute, this is my composition titled "Life to the Max."
He wasn't out looking for glory or fame
There's a wonderful story behind Max's name.
The lives he touched, turned sweet as honey
Through his caring, compassion and generous money.
It wasn't his nature to con or exploit
A miracle worker, he was for Detroit.
Another attribute of his made the news
The wonderful feeling from helping fellow Jews.
This giant of a man never thought twice
To share such wise counsel and expert advice.
The world at this time is most certainly richer
For having had the opportunity to know Max Fisher.

That's why when the Weiss's recently needed a speedy response for a flooded basement, they
immediately called Gittleman. "He tries to do everything he can to accommodate you."

Basement now redone, Sandy doesn't think she'll need Gittleman again, but the grandmother of two
can't help but shower motherly praise on the amiable contractor. "He's absolutely wonderful."

Next time you need care and consideration besides a job done on time and within budget, you can
get it all from Gittleman.
JUST ASK NORM AND SANDY WEISS.
