dolls to hospitals serving young
children in this area and Israel
over the last nine years, the Hadassah
Doll Project co-chairs hosted a lunch-
eon on Feb. 17 to thank volunteers who
worked to make this donation possible.
An average of 25 women arrive
weekly at Hadassah House in West
Bloomfield to work on doll-making
tasks, while others work at locations in
the metro area, including their homes.
Greater Detroit Chapter of Hadassah
and community volunteers who have
regularly helped to achieve this doll
donation total include Ann Adelman,
Sara Berman, Marion Brown, Marsha
Carmi, Shirley Cassel, Barbara Charlip,
Lillian Chinitz, Lydia Cutler, Florence
Davidson, Ethel Droz, Clarice Drutz,
Lydia Elkus, Renee Ettinger, Lois Falk,
Phyllis Fane, Connie Farkas and Estelle
Fishman.

Doll makers came from the mem-
bership of Mitzvah, Ruach and Tikvah
Hadassah groups. Community Doll
Project volunteers meet weekly at
Meer and Prentis Jewish Apartments
and at the West Bloomfield Parks and
Recreation (under the direction of
Sara Berman, Sylvia Foxman and
Candia Riollano).
Lezlie Silber-Mostyn holds her daughter,
Shayla, who received her doll at
Children's Hospital of Michigan while
undergoing open heart surgery. Her uncle,
Dr. Bradley Silber, decorated the doll.
Volunteer Impact referred employees
from ARC, BBDO DetrOit, and
Kresge to Hadassah's Thursday morn-
ing workshops.
Phil Hall, owner of Phillip Sewing
& Vacuum Center, volunteers his time
to repair the project's sewing
machines. Texpac contributes all of the
printed labels that identify the dolls as
Hadassah donations.

ters and Hadassah-University Hospital
in Ein Kerem, Jerusalem.
Volunteers can drop in anytime
between 9 a.m. and noon Thursdays.
