HANNA STIEBEL, 81, of
Bloomfield Hills, died Feb. 19, 2005.
She was a noted sculptor and her
works were exhibited in Michigan,
New York, Chicago and Maryland
and are owned by museums through-
out the world.
She was educated at Hebrew
University, the New School for Social
research and at Cranbrook Academy
of Art, as well as the University of
Florence and
Wayne State. In
the mid-1950s,
she served as
director of music
and Dance for
Detroit's United
Hebrew Schools
and from 1968-72
as head of the art
department at
Stiebel
Roeper City and
Country School
in Bloomfield Hills.
Mrs. Stiebel is survived by her hus-
band, Ariel Stiebel; daughter and son-
in-law, Michelle and John Stephens of
Bloomfield Hills; son and daughter-
in-law, Alex and Devorah Stiebel of
Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren, Orna
and Joel Fisher, Keren Stiebel, David
Stiebel; great-granddaughters, Leah
and Kyla Fisher; and sister and broth-
er-in-law, Sarah and Zvi Shamir of
Israel.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made

DOROTHY STORCHAN, 91, of
Southfield, died Feb. 18, 2005.
She and her husband, the late
Hyman Storchan, were founding
members of Adat Shalom Synagogue.
She was involved in retail sale of
women's and children's clothing well
into her 70s.
She was instrumental in the forma-
tion of the Adat Shalom senior group,
ChaZakah - the Young at Heart, and
was president. In 1994, she was in the
first group of inductees into Eight
over Eighty, the Senior Adult Jewish

Hall of Fame.
She was presi-
dent of her B'nai
B'rith chapter and
an Adat Shalom
trustee.
She is survived
by her sons, Cary
Storchan of
Bloomfield Hills,
Storchan
Joel Storchan of
Southfield; broth-
er and sister-in-law, Irving and Ethel
Pentelnik of Detroit; sister, Mae Fink-
Woodberg of Livonia; grandchildren,
Robyn (Mark) Coden, Daniel (fiancee
Carrie Bloxon) Storchan and Susanne
Storchan. She was the beloved wife of
the late Hyman Storchan and sister of
the late Ruth Mullins.
Interment at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park, Livonia.

RICHARD ZATKEN, 71, of
Southfield, died Feb. 14, 2005.
Mr. Zatkin was an attorney, a for-
mer school teacher and a 1st Town
Crier at Greenfield Village.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Michelle and Donald
Drury of Mass., Lynn and Don Apel
of Farmington Hills; sons and daugh-
ter-in-law, Allan and Sharon Zatkin of
Farmington Hills, Steven and Laura
