The syn- agogues will be linking up with approx- imately 600 other North American locations as well as military bases around the world for a national celebra- tion of the Sabbath. Area synagogues include Congregations B'nai Moshe and Beth Ahm in West Bloomfield, Congregation Beth Tephilath Moses in Mt. Clemens and the University of Michigan Hillel in Ann Arbor. Shabbat Across America-Canada allows Jews — many of whom have never enjoyed any Sabbath experience — to come together to get a real taste of one of Jewish tradition's greatest treasures," said Rabbi Ephraim Z. Buchwald, founder and director of NJOP. "The Sabbath offers us the opportu- nity to unplug from the distractions and stresses of daily life to focus on our spiritual well-being and to spend quali- ty time with family and friends. In this crazy, hectic world, I think we can all benefit from putting some Sabbath into our lives." Contact individual synagogues for specific programming.
