T

he Child Abuse and Neglect Council of
Oakland County, a leading source in the protec-
tion of abused children in collaboration with the
general community, hosted its ninth annual Circle of
Friends luncheon at the Townsend Hotel in
Birmingham.
Guests began by strolling select
boutiques offering exquisite jewelry,
clothino-b and children's items. The
Baskin Family Foundation and the
Suburban Collection of Troy (David
T. Fischer) underwrote the Jan. 27
event. Proceeds from the boutique, a
Chinese auction, and ticket sales
raised $53,000 for the cause.

couldn't refuse," said Birmingham's Roz Jacobson, who
co-chaired the event with her husband, Scott.
Other honorary chairs included Elyse and David
Foltyn and Sarah and Harold Fried, all of Birmingham;
Cathy and Jim Rosenthal of Bloomfield Hills; and
