Randel heard one complaint from parents: "I couldn't get my kids to leave!" This was the second annual Hadassah Family Funfair, planned to promote a feeling of community. The FunFair features craft and activity booths sponsored by local institutions that serve families. Kids could visit the West Bloomfield Library and Oakland County Health Department booths inside, but had to trek outside for the fire truck demonstrations by Farmington Hills firefighters. Children strung pasta jewelry from Noodles & Co. and colored a meno- rah picture at the Young Judaea booth. Shalom Street, Yad Ezra and Tamarack Camps were among the booths sponsored by Jewish and community organizations. The FunFair raises funds for schol- arships to Camp Young Judaea and for summer-in-Israel programs, as well as Israeli "Children at Risk," a new Hadassah project. The names of local donors were written on colorful fish and dis- played on the "Coral Mitzvah Reef" created by artist Jamie Carrick.
