Feb. 5, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek Southfield. She is the daughter

the Torah as a bar mitzvah Saturday,
Feb. 5, at Congregation B'nai Moshe.
He is the son of Elissa and Dennis Paul

Zachary is a sev-
enth-grade student
at Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan
Detroit in
Farmington Hills.
The mitzvah activities that Zachary
found meaningful were visiting
Fleishman Residence in West
Bloomfield and donating to Yad Ezra in
Berkley. He is participating in the JARC
home visits program and is helping col-
lect sports equipment to donate to
underprivileged children.
Samuel Pearlstein was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah Saturday, Jan.
22, at Congregation Beth Shalom. He
is the son of Suzi and Alan Pearlstein
and brother of
Joseph. Sam's grand-
parents are Bob
Harris, the late Gail
Harris, Sophie
Pearlstein and the
late Samuel
Pearlstein. Sharing
in the simchah was
Sam's great-grandfa-
ther Ben Harris.
Sam is a seventh-grade student at
Walnut Creek Middle School in Walled
Lake. He chose to support Yad Ezra in
Berkley as well as the North American
Conference on Ethiopian Jewry for his
mitzvah projects.
Mara Faye Rubin celebrated her bat
mitzvah Saturday, Jan. 29, at Temple
Kol Anil. She is the daughter of aine
and Ira Rubin and sister of Philip. Her
proud grandparents
are Shirley and Nate
Greenberg and Alex
Rubin. She is also
the granddaughter
of the late Faye
Rubin and the late
Aaron Harrison.

teering as a madricha (aide) at Temple
Kol Ami's religious school, working
with the temple's shelter program, col-
lecting and donating books to Burton
Elementary School in Detroit and
working with animal rescue.
