Bloomfield Township. He will discuss
"After Arafat: The Beginning of the

Brown is deputy director of the

Affairs Center and the author of books

The Adat Shalom Sisterhood will hold
an art exhibit and auction Saturday,
Feb. 5, at a new auction house.
The evening will include hors
d'oeuvres, desserts, wine and art. The 7
p.m. preview will be followed by the
auction at 8 P'.m. Admission is $18 per
person in advance or $20 at the door.

Temple Israel's Brotherhood will host
the annual Inter-Congregational
Brotherhood Dinner at Temple Israel
6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3.
Guest speaker for the event will be
Nolan Finley, editorial page editor of
the Detroit News. He will speak on
"Current Events in the Middle East."
Tickets are $45 per person and

include cocktails, kosher dinner and
the guest speaker's presentation.

Disabilities Are Discussed

Motivational speaker Norm Kunc will
lecture Feb. 2-3 at three Jewish commu-
nal venues.
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, he will
talk on "If You Want Your Children to
Succeed, Teach Them How to Fail."
This talk, open to the public, will take
place at the Jewish Community Center
in West Bloomfield. There is a charge;

On Thursday, Feb. 3, Jewish Family
Service will host "The Right to be
Disabled" for individuals with disabili-
ties, their parents and professionals. The
9 a.m. talk will take place at the JFS
building, 6555 W. Maple in West
Bloomfield. There is a charge; reserva-

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, Kunc will
speak on "Hell Bent on Helping" for
community volunteers and others dedi-
cated to individuals with disabilities.
The talk will be held at the Shul, 6890
W Maple in West Bloomfield. There is
no charge but reservations are required.

Kunc, who has cerebral palsy, spent
the last 20 years helping people turn
failures into successes.
