Storyteller Gerald McLamore was
the featured speaker. He related how
influenced he was by Dr. King. As a

er his "I Have a Dream" speech.
Winners of the annual essay con-
test's essay were Timothy Adams,
Eisenhower Elementary School third-
grader; Amber March, Thompson
Middle School sixth-grader, and
Alexandria Clark, Southfield High
School 11th-grader. All wrote about
the legacy of Dr. King.
Choirs from Thompson Middle
School and Mclntrye Elementary
School also performed.
"My husband and I have been
honored to be part of the Southfield
event," said Euni Rose. "We are sur-
rounded by people who care about
each other, who insist this be a better
world and who follow in Martin
Luther King's footsteps with grace
and love." O
