ORT's activities can give the
survivors of the Indian Ocean
tsunami the practical ability to
rebuild their communities just
as it helps the social and
economic development of 60
other countries around the
world.
By pooling the expertise of our
58 national organizations,
World ORT is preparing
trauma counseling and training
projects in construction and
education that the survivors of
the tsunami will need to
recover emotional and material
stability in the years ahead.
For more than 125 years, ORT
has given skills and hope to
refugees of conflicts and victims
of poverty in the developing
world as well as to survivors of
Czarist anti-Semitism and the
Holocaust.
From ORT's office in Bombay,
which was established in 1960,
we will coordinate help for the
survivors.
