laina and Sandy Kronenberg didn't care
much about watching football bowl games
during the New Year's weekend. The West
Bloomfield couple were just a bit busy, becoming
first-time parents early New Year's Day with the
birth of daughter Ashley Faith.
The expectant mother's contractions •began at
home Wednesday, Dec. 29, and got closer together
the next day at work where she is an ophthamolo-
gist.

sponsible," referring to the missed opportunity —
by four hours and 15 minutes — for a 2004 tax
deduction.
Sandy, Alaina and Ashley returned to their home
about 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, to be greeted by eight
family members.
Since Ashley Faith is the first grandchild on both
sides of the family, the excited new grandparents
"bought everything on the planet," Alaina said.
Alaina is an ophthalmologist at Vision Institute
of Michigan, Livonia, while Sandy is in corporate
communications in the technology field with
Netarx Inc., Farmington Hills. The couple returned
to the Detroit area last July after Alaina completed
her residency in New York City.
The grandparents are Dr. Yale and Lisa Falick of
Bloomfield Hills and Rob and Nancy Kronenberg
of Long Island, N.Y.
Ashley Faith is named in memory of her mater-
nal great-grandmother, Alice Goldman, and pater-
nal great-grandmother, Florence Lawrence. ❑ -
