After graduat- ing from Northern High School, he worked for a flower shop owned by Mr. Lorenzo on Woodward Avenue from 1929-1934. From 1934-1936, he had a small shop on Davison. From 1936-1968, he owned a shop on Woodward Avenue in Detroit. After the riots, Mr. Rose moved Rose his flower shop to Nine Mile and Coolidge in Oak Park. He was a life member of Knights of Phythias and the Furniture Club.
