n a brisk but clear Sunday
afternoon, Dec. 5, the seven
high school seniors on Shapiro
AZA's undefeated "A" football team
took the field at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield. Their longtime rivals,
Jolson "A," were just as ready to make
something happen.

championship game, Jolson
"A" took on the second of
Shapiro's three flag football
teams, outscoring them 34-27
for a place in the champi-
onship game.
Both "A" teams knew the
approaching game would be a
tough one. And it came down
to the wire, with Shapiro slip-
ping by Jolson by one point,
beating their rivals in a

refereed to keep the games safe and to
keep arguments to a minimum. This
year, we had a lot of participation. It
was a good turnout and hopefully next
year, it will even be better," said Eric
Dropkin of Farmington Hills, fraterni-
ty-athletic chairman of Michigan
Region AZA. "Everyone should just
