Gepstein is an associate professor in
the Department of Physiology and
Biophysics in the Technion Faculty of
Medicine and a senior physician in the
Cardiology Department at Rambam
Medical Center, both in Haifa. His
research includes cardiac arrhythmias
and heart rhythm disorders.
The professor spoke on his latest
research in human embryonic stem cell
technology on Nov. 15 at Temple Israel
in West Bloomfield.
"So many of us came to hear the
promise of future cures using hESC
technology for heart disease and diabetes,
just to name a few," said Franklin's Scott
Leemaster, president of the American
Technion Society's Metro Detroit
