sophomore captain of the Farmington
Harrison High
School cross country
team, ran an 18:34
for 5 kilometers at the
state regional meet.
The time made him
the youngest qualifier
from his region for
the state champi-

Division 2 championship at Michigan
International Speedway in Brooklyn,
Grushoff finished 222nd in 18:41.50.
He was the leading runner from the
three Farmington public high schools.
Michigan State senior Jordan Gruber
led the Spartans to their first Big Ten
soccer crown, scoring
the only goal in a 1-0
upset of
Northwestern.
Gruber, a graduate of
Birmingham Groves
High School, also had
the Spartan's lone goal
in their NCAA first-
Gruber
round tournament
game against Tulsa.
But Tulsa scored 3 to end the Spartans'
season.
MSU finished the season at 12-6-1,
with Gruber leading the team with 11
