Ron, a 36-year-old lawyer
from West Bloomfield, learned
to ski at Winter Walden Ski
Club in West Bloomfield start-
ing at age 7. Yearly family trips
to Lake Tahoe kept the excite-
ment alive for him as year-by-
year he began to excel at the
great challenges of the powder
out West.

Jodi, 37, is a physical thera-
pist. Her love of the sport didn't
begin until age 14, where she
started lessons locally at Blizzard
Ski and Snowboard School in
Bloomfield Hills. Needless to
say, the couple's two children,
Jordyn, age 7 1/2 , and Justin, 5
1/2, were born to ski.
Jordyn started her training at
age 6 with Winter Walden. Not
to be outdone by big sis, Justin
convinced his parents to let him
try out a small pair of skis on the
hill in the Weiss's back yard at

the tender age of 4 and has been
hooked ever since.
With the two kids skiing
every Saturday all season long
with Winter Walden, Ron and
Jodi participate in the fun as
parent supervisors for the
school. Last March, a family
vacation tradition began at Blue
Mountain Resort on Georgian
Bay north of Toronto.
As the children's skills
improve, proud mom and dad
are preparing to take them to
the larger resorts out West as
well.
Jordyn and Justin anxiously
await the ski season each year,
staring into the sky as early as
October searching for
snowflakes. Before the leaves
even fell from the trees this
year, the two adorable redheads
were already impatiently asking,
"Can we ski yet?!"
