with her dead lover's spirit.
The Dybbuk has been described as
"Romeo and Juliet Meet the
Exorcist," and Myers agrees with
that assessment.
"It's a love story that's beautiful
and terrifying in equal measure," he
said, and it celebrates the division
between earthly existence and the
supernatural, between fleshly desire
and the cravings of the spirit, and
between our material reality and the
transcendent longings of two lovers.
It depicts Ansky's sense of Chasidic
culture, which is filled with earthly
humor, joy and sorrow.

center, who created a musical score for the
production.
