Two new members of the Henry
Ford Community College Fine Arts
and Fitness Division, ceramics instruc-
tor Steve Glazer of Dearborn and art
history instructor Hashim Al-Tawil,
exhibit their artwork in the exhibit
Script and Light through Dec. 2 at
the Sisson Gallery of the MacKenzie
Fine Arts Center, 1501 Evergreen
Road, in Dearborn. Glazer, who is
Jewish, shows ceramics work built
using both hand-building and wheel-
throwing techniques. Al-Tawil, who
grew up in Iraq, uses acrylics and oils
to create a 3-D texture in his paint-
ings. Glazer says that by working
together, he and Al-Tawil are "trying
to bridge the gaps that are tearing the
