Marissa Berman, an eight-grade stu-
dent at West Hills Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills, received a special
recognition award from the Ford
Motor Company and the Detroit
Newspapers. She was one of 600 stu-
dents who entered a Hispanic heritage
art contest and her mosaic guitar inter-
pretation was representative of Joan
Biaz. The art will travel the country
representing Hispanic Heritage
Month. Marissa's parents are Marilyn
and Richard Berman.

cell biology at Wayne State University
