He was born in Vilna, Lithuania, and arrived at Ellis Island in 1907. He loved classical music, learned to play the violin and was concert master of the Jewish sym- phony during the 1930s. Mr. Kravitz's father taught him the roofing business and he operated his own business for over 40 years. At age 63, he and his wife began a statistical typing business on Southfield Road. When Mr. Kravitz was 90, he received the Diamond of the Community award from the Farm- ington Area Commission on Aging for his services to Eagle Elementary School from 1989-1999. The whole school celebrated his 90th birthday at a Gemini concert in his honor. Mr. Kravitz is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lenore and Ronald Kingston of Farmington Hills; brother, Allen Kravitz of San Diego; grandchildren, Beverly Kingston, Andrea (Patrick) McNulty and Suzanne Walmsley; great-grand- children, Alicia, Nicholas, Joshua and Evan.
