A Jaffe

CREATED WITH PASSION SINCE 1892

Also Laura Fox, who so many well
remember from the Caucus Club,
where she was general manager when
Jose Acevedo left after 28 years ...
Laura is Ramzi's dining room manager
and banquet booking coordinator.
Biggest seller at Italian Epicure is one
of its specialty dishes that is nowhere
else to be found ... Four cheese Baci,
filled with Pecorino Romano, ricotta,
parmesan and fontina cheeses ...
spinach, roasted peppers and rosemary
tomato sauce, $12.
Another order biggie is the fruit of
the sea seafood creation with shrimp,
scallops, mussels, clams, salmon, toma-
toes, onions, portabella mushrooms
and wine sauce, $19.
One of the menu's best buys is prob-
ably the 16-ounce New York strip steak
chargrilled in its own juice, $23 for 16
ounces of tasty tenderness.
The restaurant's signature dish,
Tournedos Don Roberto, named after
Chef Roberto, is two good-sized ten-
derloins, each with a different sauce,
$19 ... A veal marsala presentation is
also a winner ... Four medallions of
Provimi veal, $18.
The wonderful Chilean sea bass that
Chef Roberto makes ... lightly black-
ened and served with a lobster sauce
and asparagus tips ... is so very tender
and elegantly delicious; $19.

knows the importance of giving people
what they want and is doing this in a
big way.
Folks are starting to come to Italian
Epicure in droves ... and without doubt
enjoying every bit of a wonderful culi-
nary and entertainment experience.
YEARS AGO, if Peking Duck was
desired, 24-hour notice had to be given
to a favorite Chinese restaurant ... Still
not many Chinese chefs wanted to
mess with the delicious dish, consider-
ing it too difficult and time consuming
to prepare.
Most Chinese restaurants like Hong
Hua on Orchard Lake Road, north of
12 Mile, among the Northwest area's
leaders in Peking Duck preparation,
serve it making two dishes out of one
duck ... Thin slices of honey-glazed
skin with Chinese crepes, scallions and
hoisin sauce ... and boneless breast stir-
fried with Chinese vegetables ... $35
for the two preparations.

It is also ordered a third way, as let-
tuce wraps with chopped duck meat,
mushrooms, water chestnuts and
hoisin sauce, $6.95.
Hong Hua goes through over 200
ducks a week.
SUNDAY GOSPEL brunch now at
Beans & Cornbread on Northwestern
between 12 and 13 Mile, Southfield, is

salmon croquettes, mushroom and
Gruyere omelet, etc., among 10 main
dishes served with those luscious
homemade sweet potato muffins.
CONGRATS ... to Joe and Lois
Sposita, owners of Sposita's Ristorante,
on their 50th wedding anniversary ...
To David and Debbie Himelhoch, on
their 25th wedding anniversary ... to
Ryan Kraft, on his 16th birthday, cele-
brated at Sposita's with parents Shelly
and Walter Kraft and family.
`THE CONTENDER' starring
Sylvester Stallone, Sugar Ray Leonard
and Jackie Kallen, hits the TV airwaves
in January.
She is also involved in her own sit-
corn called One of the Guys ... and

est.
