A new team — and look — will put Birmingham Place on the map.

A
lthough Birmingham Place is the largest
building in upscale Birmingham's thriving
downtown, it apparently is also the most
invisible.
Ask most people where Birmingham Place is locat-
ed and they'll scratch their heads. They know the
neighboring 555 S. Woodward structure, but just
can't identify the building that has been a part of the
downtown cityscape since 1983. The 10-story,
250,000-square-foot structure at Woodward and
Brown lacked a basic prerequisite of Real Estate 101
— name recognition.
All that is about to change.
Picture "Extreme Makeover. Commercial Edition"
coming to Oakland County, and that will give you an
idea of what's in store for Birmingham Place between
now and December 2005.
Pomeroy Reinhart Stration Development LLC of
Bloomfield Hills, in partnership with Farmington
Hills-based Broder & Sachse Real Estate Services,
Inc., bought the mixed-use retail/office/residential
property in February from its original owner, Paul B.
