The recent Michigan Tribute Dinner, celebrating the launch of our second decade, set a
new record for the Museum's vital programs. We are particularly grateful for the outstanding
leadership of Mickey Shapiro, appointed by President George W. Bush to the U.S. Holocaust
Memorial Council in 2002. The far-reaching support Mickey Shapiro and the Shapiro Family
orchestrated in the Detroit community for this national Museum has unquestionably
set a new standard for the rest of the country.
