ANNE E. BERENT, 90, of
Southfield, died Oct. 17, 2004. She
was a dental assistant to her husband,
a member of
Hadassah, Jewish
Women International,
ORT, ZOA and Adat
Shalom Synagogue
and its sisterhood.
She is survived by
her husband, Dr.
Berent
Louis R. Berent; son
and daughter-in-law,
Melvyn Berent and Barbara Spreitzer-
Berent; brother and sister-in-law, Leon
and Nancy Firestone; grandchildren,
Amy Berent, Michelle, Daniel,
Kenneth (Amy Lynne) Berent. She
was the loving mother of the late Paul
Berent.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment at
Adat Shalom Cemetery. Arrangements
by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

DR. MICHAEL CAHN (Dr. Max
Crandall) formerly of Detroit of
Berkeley, Calif, died Oct. 13, 2004.
He was a graduate of Central High,
class of 1946. He received his bachelor
of arts in engineering from Wayne
State University in 1950. He was also
a member of the National Guard.
Dr. Cahn graduated from the
Chicago College of Osteopathic
Medicine in 1965 and practiced in
Livonia and Novi before relocating to
Berkeley in 1978. He continued his
general family practice in Union City,
Calif., until forced by illness to retire
in 1997.
Dr. Cahn belonged to the Chabad
of Berkley in San Francisco and the
Beit Midrash of Ohr Hahayim of
Berkely.
He is survived by his beloved wife of
39 years, Mitzi (Rachleff) Cahn; griev-
ing sons, Colin Crandall, Evan
Crandall, Jeremy Crandall, all of
California; sister, Thelma Kerwin of
West Bloomfield; brother, George
Crandall of Farmington Hills.
Interment in California.
Contributions may be made to a
Chabad of one's choice or to a
Parkinsons organization.

LOUIS COHEN, 90, of Farmington
Hills, died Oct. 12, 2004.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Paula and Paul Gunter of
Melbourne, Fla., Sharon and
