Why are Democrats in our community supporting George W. Bush? We are lifelong Democrats who find ourselves voting for a Republican President for the first time. Terrorism threatens us and our fellow Jews in Israel every day. Terrorism is not going to disappear - unless it is destroyed by those people who believe in the sanctity of human life. The Nazis were not overcome by a huge coalition of nations but rather by people such as the British and Americans who were determined to destroy those vicious killers. We strongly support the difficult task that our President, George W. Bush, is doing to overcome the tyrants of the world. The lives of our children and grandchildren are at stake during this critical moment. While voting for a Republican is new for us, it is a vote we cast with great enthusiasm. It is an enthusiasm we hope others in our community share. —Ann & Leonard P. Baruch We are pro-choice women who have consistently voted Democrat. We are also wives and mothers who know the first role of the President is to ensure our safety. President Bush has done that. Senator Kerry has a record, extending nearly 20 years, of voting against critical legislation designed to secure our country in an increasingly hostile and complex world. His contradictory statements throughout the campaign further convince us that he is the wrong leader for our country. The political pundits call us "security moms" who might determine the outcome of the election. We are just mothers who know that either we decisively confront the terrorists and their state sponsors today, or our children will surely fight a more difficult battle tomorrow. President Bush has earned our support. —Lisa Weinbaum, Liz joelson,,Lisa Menuck & Jill Menuck I voted for Bill Clinton twice and for Al Gore in 2000. I have never volunteered on a political campaign. However, I am so troubled by Senator John Kerry's constantly changing positions on the war on Islamic terrorism, that I had to get involved. One day Senator Kerry supports the war in Iraq, another day he votes against funding for American troops. Then he calls for a "global test" whereby defending our nation must first be approved by the international community! In contrast, President Bush has demonstrated consistently principled leadership. He has captured over 75% of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network. responsible for 9-11. Today, Libya's weapons of mass destruction sit in a warehouse in Tennessee. As a son of a Holocaust survivor, our family has survived against the odds of history. I will not entrust my children's fate to shifting political winds. I am proudly supporting President George W Bush. —Mark Adler er Family 2004 38 Add your name to our list of Michigan Jews who support the President at www.jewsforgeorge.com .
