Library and sisterhood are sponsoring
a six-session book club, Bagels and
Books!, beginning 10 a.m. Monday,
Oct. 18.
Area professionals, Susan Chalom,
English professor, Wayne Sate
University; Steven Berman, English
professor, Oakland Community
College, and Jan Landsberg, librarian,
West Bloomfield Public Library, will
each lead two sessions.
Chalom will begin the series Oct.
18 with a discussion of The Leopard
Hat: A Daughter's Story by Valerie
Steiker. On Dec. 6, Landsberg will
discuss The Inn at Lake Devine by
Elinor Lipman. Berman will lead the
Jan. 17 session featuring The Human
Stain by Philip Roth.
On Feb. 28, Landsberg will present
In the Image by Dara Horn. Berman
will discuss Postville: A Clash of
Cultures in America's Heartland by
Stephen G. Bloom on April 11. The
series will conclude May 23 with
Chalon-i's discussion of The Song of
Names by Norman Lebrecht.
Cost of the series is 830. Books are
available in area libraries and in paper-

Couples Workshop Set

Temple Israel's Robert Sosnick Family
Life Center will hold a four-week cou-
ples' workshop.
The sessions, at 7:30 Tuesday

for those experiencing divorce.
Melissa Oleshansky's six-week, 7
p.m. Monday-night group began Oct.

Oleshansky is a psychotherapist and
