ESTHER "NAOMI" DAVIES, 94, of

Oak Park, died Sept. 30, 2004. She was
active with the Hendersonville Shrine
Club Auxiliary, was a volunteer for the
Jewish Apartment Services, an Avon rep-
resentative, a member of the Rob Morris
Chapter of the Eastern Star and of
Agucins Israel and its sisterhood. She was
also a past president of her Hadassah
chapter.
Mrs. Davies is survived by sons and
daughters-in-law, Zachary M. and Hetty
Davies of Oak Park, Jon A. and Sarah
Leah Davies of Pensacola, Fla.; grand-
children, Miriam and Louis Pardo,
Bonnie and Keith Cox, Leah Annie and
Mark Cyprus, Blossom Davies and
Brian Jamieson, Betty Davies, Jon A.
Davies II, Joseph R. and Aubrey Davies,
Phillip Levy and Jennifer Davies,
Herman Morris Davies; great-grandchil-
dren, Justin, Devin and Jacob Cox,
Robert Allan, Charles Martin Cyprus,
Emily Kathleen, Jack Martin, Allison
Rachel, Elizabeth Anne, Morris Levy
and London Claire Davies. She was the
beloved wife of the late Jack Martin
Davies; devoted sister of the late Arthur
Leyton, the late Minnie Wernick and
the late Sam Levy.
Private Interment. Contributions may
be made to a charity of one's choice.

SARAH EISELMAN GUTMAN, for-
mer Detroiter of Los Angeles, died Sept.
6, 2004. She immigrated to the United
States from Poland.
She went to night
school to learn
Spanish and became
so proficient with the
language, she worked
for an Spanish-speak-
ing attorney, in court
situations. Before
Gutman
becoming a home-
maker, she worked as
a tax preparer in her husband's store.
In 1967, following the riots, she and
her husband moved to Los Angeles,
where she was active in such Jewish
causes as Jewish National Fund, Amit
Women and Red Magen David Adom.
She was a member of Temple Beth Am
in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Gutman is survived by her
daughters and son-in-law, Ilene Gutman
Atkinson and Carl Atkinson of Hermosa
Beach, Calif., Florence Gutman of
Culver City Calif; son and daughter-in-
law, Dr. Harvey Gutman and Peggy
Morrow Gutman of Los Angeles; sister
and brother-in-law, Evelyn Eiselman
Wallace and David Wallace of Oak Park.
She was the beloved wife of the late Leo
Gutman.
