Door January 19 February 13, 2005 Directed by: Yolanda Fleischer The life stories of a Jewish mother, her daughter and granddaughter are explored in From Door to Door. The comedy focuses on three generations of the same family, spanning 65 years, from 1935 to the pres- ent. The play begins in the present, with one of the women sitting shiva for her husband, when something prompts her to reflect back on her life. The play, whose title is a refer- ence to a phrase in the Hebrew prayer book, "l'dor v'dor," which means "from generation to generation," examines how we take what we get from our parents and then make choices about what we will - and won't -- pass on to our children.
