JET has joined in the national celebration of the

350th anniversary of the arrival of the first Jews
in America. JET will do it with great theatre.

Theatre has been a magnet for Jewish creativity
in America. The names are legion with play-
wrights like Arthur Miller, Clifford Odets, Elmer
Rice, Neil Simon, Israel Horovitz, Murray
Schisgal, and so many others. We'll add an extra
full production as part of an optional five play
season- subscription with the presentation of the
Midwestern premiere of From Door to Door by
James Sherman: the real, poignant and some-
times very funny story of three generations of
Jewish women: from immigrant to today's young
career mother. I am very pleased to join the cast
of this lovely play under gifted director Yolanda
Fleisher's able direction as JET celebrates its
own special 16th birthday! I urge you to join me
in this fifth play subscription option.

Our guest artists' series will include theatre
artists and artisans and those who know most
about the role Jewish artists have played. We'll
look at the role of the Yiddish Art Theatre and its
contribution to the American stage, with all its
glitter and grandeur, a fascinating view of that
contribution to the great white way.

This season is an adventure into our past as we
pave our way to a fruitful future.
