Yad. Ezra Names Honorees

Yad Ezra, the only kosher food pantry in
Michigan, will hold its annual fund-rais-
ing dinner at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek Southfield, Monday, Oct. 11.
Edie and Donald Slotkin, longtime
Yad Ezra supporters, are this year's hon-
orees. The Slotkins have been activists in
the community for many years, focusing
their efforts at Gleaners Community
Food Bank, Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit and Bloomfield
Hills Cranbrook Schools.
Dinner arrangements co-chairs are
Margie Krasnicvk and Shayna
Silverman. Dinner fund-raising co-chairs
are Sharon Lipton and Beverly Liss with
Ken Bernard and Ben Waxenberg serv-
ing as dinner program journal co-chairs.
Dan Glickman, president and CEO

The Pet-A-Pet Club is seeking dogs, cats,
rabbits and their owners to visit nursing
homes and hospitals in the northwest
suburbs. The club makes monthly group

Blood Donors Sought

With the Red Cross, the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit is
seeking blood donors for a drive on
Sunday, Dec. 5, noon to 4 p.m., at the
Jewish Community Center, Oak Park.
The drive will coincide with
Federation's Super Sunday, when volun-
teers make calls on behalf of Federation's
2005 Annual Campaign, which aids
Jews in need in Detroit, Israel and
around the world. Marta Rosenthal co-
chairs Federation's 2005 Annual
Campaign with Michael Horowitz.
Donors should be older than 18.
