The blood drive will coincide with Federation's Super Sunday, a day when hundreds of volunteers gather to make calls on behalf of Federation's 2005 annual campaign, helping thousands in need here in Detroit, Israel and in Jewish communities around the world. The program will teach memory building techniques and men- tal exercises to help individuals maintain their ability to live an active and inde- pendent life. The club will meet at JVS, a nonprof- it human service organization, 29699 Southfield Road, Southfield. The Memory Club is offered on Tuesdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. During the ses- sions, memory-enhancing activities, vis- its to community events and lunch are provided. A Sukkah Makeover Congregation Shaarey Zedek will host Extreme Sukkah Makeover Sunday, Sept. 26, from noon-3 p.m., at the Southfield building. The program is co-sponsored by JEFF (Jewish Experience for the Family). Children will be able to create a semi-permanent decoration for the sukkah with an artist in residence, shake a lulav, dip a caramel apple, make a blessing plaque and help Bob the Builder build a sukkah. Adults can study with the clergy. To celebrate the harvest season, bring a small bag of produce to donate to Forgotten Harvest. There is a charge of $15 per family; $10 if pro- duce is donated.
