Habonim Dror has named Moran
Lencer as its new shlicha (emissary)
for the movement, which is allied
with the Labor Zionist Allliance. She
also will serve as
the community
youth shlicha
for the Jewish
Federation of
Metropolitan
Detroit.
Lencer
replaces
Shoshana
Becker, who
worked
with
Lencer
Habonim and
the Federation
for three years, and recently returned
to Israel.
As the Habonim shlicha, Lencer
will coordinate Israel-oriented activi-
ties for youth. She spent the past
summer at Camp Tavor, south of
Kalamazoo, which attracts campers
from Detroit, Chicago and the entire
Midwest region.
Just prior to her arrival, Lencer
received her degree in Jewish folklore
at the Hebrew University at Mt.
Scopus. She was previously a shlicha
to the Jewish community in Finland,
and also was program director for
the Herzliya city community center,
where she directed a teen leadership
program.
For information on community
youth programs, contact Lencer at
the Jewish Federation, (248) 203-
1462, or at lencer@jfmd.org
