2002 SINAI GUILD GRANTS:

$55,000 to Hutzel Hospital and Wayne State University for the study
and treatment of cervical cancer

$50,000 to Weisberg Cancer Treatment Center

The Sinai Guild is pleased to announce that we have received the

following grant requests for 2004. $200,000 in grant awards will be

announced in December, 2004.

EQUIPMENT:

$47,000 to Huron Valley-Sinai and Sinai-Grace Hospitals for the
Telestroke Project

$30,925 to Children's Hospital of Michigan for the Maxine and Stuart
Frankel Foundation Computer-Assisted Robotic Surgical Program

$30,000 to provide defibrillators and training to synagogues and
temples, accomplished in partnership with the Jewish Fund

$15,000 to Jewish Apartments and Services for the Senior Prescription
Drug Program

$3,000 to the Jevvish Community Center to provide families in need
with car seats

$1,500 to Darchai Torah for reflective safety belts

$55,572 for a cardiography reading system at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital

$50,000 to purchase hearing aids for low-income individuals through
Harper Hospital

$33,864 to provide equipment for school-based health centers and health
fairs through Children's Hospital of Michigan

$20,000 to purchase medical supplies necessary for all Camp Tamarack
summer programs

$16,200 to purchase updated infant monitors for Sinai-Grace Hospital's
Neonatology Department

$11,695 to improve identification and evaluation of hearing loss in
newborns, children and multiple-handicapped patients through the Lion's
Hearing Center

$3,000 to enable Project Linus to provide handmade blankets to severely
ill or traumatized children

2003 SINAI GUILD GRANTS:

$57,950 to Karmanos Cancer Institute in support for early detection of
ovarian cancer and recruitment of 500 women to donate blood to the
Karmanos Cancer Institute for Dr. Michael Tainsky's Ovarian Cancer
Research Study

RESEARCH:

$74,503.98 for a cluster parallel-processing computer system to benefit
ovarian cancer research at Karmanos Cancer Institute

$50,000 to Weisberg Cancer Treatment Center

$54,000 toward killing prostate cancer cells by stealth through Wayne
State University

$37,295 to Children's Hospital of Michigan for the Maxine and Stuart
Frankel Foundation Computer-Assisted Robotic Surgical Program

$39,181 to identify and test a serum marker for the early detection of
lung cancer in women through Karmanos Cancer Institute

$31,658.70 to Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital for one transport monitor
and two biphasic defibrillators

8,675 to characterize the relationship between sleep and learning
through Sinai-Grace Hospital

$15,000 to Jewish Apartments and Services for the Senior Prescription
Drug Program

$3,113 to fund a therapeutic listening program at Children's Hospital of
Michigan's outpatient rehabilitation site in Novi

$3,000 to the Jewish Community Center to provide children in need
