Dube Chairs Lunch-Learn

Otto Dube has joined the B'nai B'rith
Great Lakes Regional Board as lunch
and learn chairman.
Monthly sesssions will be held on
the second Tuesday of the month, at
12:30 p.m., from
October through
May of each year, at

Building, Telegraph
Road, Bloomfield
Township.

Dube
will be Rabbi
Lauren Berkun on
the subjects of "Lusting and Learning"
and "Judiasm and Sexual Ethics." The
cost is $10 per person and includes a
kosher lunch.
A thanks goes to M. Jacob & Sons
for their grant, which makes it possi-
ble for B'nai B'rith to create this
forum for continuing Jewish educa-
tion.

Grant Helps Hechtman

Zager-Stone-Tucker-Grant Unit of
B'nai B'rith assisted Hechtman Jewish
Apartments with its fund-raiser, a
white elephant sale.
B'nai B'rith volunteers Nancy

Beverly Dunn, Sema Lazar, Bobbie
Levine and Sandy Olenick took shifts
to assist in the sale. The monies earned
will go into the residence fund for a
variety of items at the Hechtman
Residence.

chair for Community Volunteer

Yad Ezra Hosts Food Drive

Synagogues, Hillel Day School and
Hechtman Jewish Apartments are partic-
ipating in Yad Exra's annual Yom
Kippur Food Drive this year.
Shaarey Zedek, Shir Tikvah, B'nai
Moshe, Birmingham Temple, Adat
Shalom, Temple Israel, Congregation
Beth Issac, the Downtown Synagogue,
Beth Shalom, Kol Ami, Temple Emanu-
el, Shaarey Zedek B'nai Israel, Beit
Kodesh, Keter Torah, Young Israel of
Southfield, Beth Ahm, Shir Shalom,
Young Israel of Oak Park and Beth El
have distributed specially designed bags
and-or donation enveloes to their mem-
bers for the collection of packaged food
and funds to benefit Yad Ezra's 1,100
needy client families.
The food will be picked up by Yad
Ezra volunteers and brought to the orga-
nization's warehouse for distribution.
Volunteers are needed to help unload,
sort, box and shelve food. The following
shifts are available: Sunday, Sept. 26, 9-
11:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.; Monday,
Sept. 27, noon-3 p.m.; Tuesday, Sept.
28, noon - 3 p.m., 3-6 p.m., 6-8 p.m.;
Wednesday, Sept. 29, noon-3 p.m.
