He is also the grandson of the late
Feige and Irving Ackerman.
Matthew is a double honor stu-
dent at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. His mitzvah projects included
the Dor L'Dor program through
Hillel, volunteering at Yad Ezra in
Berkely and being a Hebrew assis-
tant at the religious school at
Temple Beth El.

Taylor Paige Dubin will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah Saturday,
Sept. 11, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek Southfield. She is the daugh-
ter of Tammy and Jeffrey Dubin and
sister of Maxwell.
Proud grandpar-
ents are Mrs.
Beverly Blas, Dr.
and Mrs. Donald
Kay, Dr. and Mrs.
Morrie Dubin.
Taylor is also the
granddaughter of
the late Frank Blas
and the late Phyllis
Dubin.
Taylor is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield. In addition to
participating in mitzvah projects
through Shaarey Zedek and the
Danto Family Health Care Center
in West Bloomfield, she raised
money for the cure for cancer along
with her friends Justin Kelman and
Alex Zaslow.

Lauren Ettinger, daughter of Valerie
Lane, sister of Jarett, celebrated her
bat mitzvah on Friday, Sept. 3, at
the Shul.
Lauren is a junior at Farmington
High School
and attends the
Skills Center
program. As
part of her
mitzvah proj-
ect, Lauren
helped package
care boxes at
Yad Ezra in
Berkley, and
she continues to be very active in
the Friendship Circle, where she was
tutored by her volunteers Emily
Nadis and Rachel Cicurel.

Andrew Jordan Karbel will celebrate
his bar mitzvah as he reads from the
Torah Friday, Sept. 10, at Temple
