viewing audience."
Apart from the exhibits, Ross will
be curating shows and helping non-
profits with artistic projects. One
project, a basket display, teams her
with Selik once again.
"It's been very different making
decisions by myself although Arlene
has been available when I needed a
second opinion," says Ross, now
working out of her home. "It took
six months of networking and
researching to come up with my
business plan."
Ross, who has a master's degree in
instructional design from Wayne
State University and worked in
another gallery before opening her
own, recently was reminded that
she expressed an interest in repre-
senting artists while still in high
school. During a year's assignment
teaching English as a second lan-
guage in Israel, she expressed her
interest in art by seeking out crafts
and handmade mezuzahs.
"I'm very excited about my new
business and this current project,"
Ross says. "I want to educate the
public about new artworks by
emerging artists as well as those
who are better known." II
