David Hawley with a donated car

I
f David Hawley wants to
remember his early days, all he
has to do is look around him
because the city of Farmington
Hills, where he currently resides, is
also where he spent his childhood.
Although the city has a diverse
population, David enjoys the close-
ness he feels within the communi-
ty. He appreciates the quality of
the school system, although, as a
single man, David has yet to take
advantage of this attribute.
David likes living near his par-
ents, Eva and Thomas Hawley. In
nearby West Bloomfield, reside his
brother and sister-in-law, Todd and
Fatin Hawley, and their children,
Ryan and Gabriella.
"And I like being so close to my
Jewish bubbie [Elizabeth Sanders
of West Bloomfield]; she's the most
important person in my life," David
says.
He also enjoys the proximity of
the Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield, especially its on-
site kosher restaurant, Milk &
Honey, and the Shul-Chabad
Lubavitch, also in West Bloomfield,
where he attends services.
David manages the Friendship
Wheels program, which contributes
profits from donated automobiles,
boats, furniture, art and other items
to the Friendship Circle, which
runs programs for children with
special needs as well as recovering
addicts and alcoholics within the
Jewish community. LI
