Director, Shalom Street

Shalom Street, offers innovative, engaging and fun interactive exhibits,
floor educational programming, interactive street theater and exciting
education outreach that creates a compelling learning experience for all
visitors and participants, from both the Jewish and general communities,
targeting ages 5 —12.

Shalom Street aims to spark the imagination of those visiting with the
excitement of Jewish culture and values. Major exhibits, developed by
Derse Museum Group and Lord Cultural Resources, display key Jewish
themes including Tikkun Olam — Repairing the World, Volunteerism and
Philanthropy, The Jewish Home, Our Relationship and Responsibility for
Nature, the Jewish Arts and The Diversity of the Jewish People.

The Director will implement the vision and strategic direction of the
Shalom Street Board of Directors and will ensure that all educational
content, programming, theatrical elements, and over 30 exhibits suc-
cessfully achieve a sense of wonder and exhilaration while achieving the
overall mission. He/she will manage the day-to-day operations, the street
theater, and programming, as well as the development and implementa-
tion and care of exhibits. Responsibilities include marketing, public rela-
tions, community partnerships, financial . management, guest relations,
customer service and experience development. Additionally, the
Director will hire, lead, counsel, and coach Shalom Street staff, multiple
actors/actresses and volunteers, as well as partner with the Jewish
Community Center staff and Board of Directors, the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit and volunteer leadership.
