Hadassah Fetes Leaders

The Greater Detroit Chapter of
Hadassah presented its first tribute to
the Women of Koach V'Kavod
(strength and honor) and installed offi-
cers.
Past President Barbara Gutman and
Andrea Trivax officiated at the installa-
tion of the 2004-2005 executive board.
Susan Luria was installed for a second
term as president. Newly installed board
vice presidents are Meredith Weston-
Band, Judi Schram, Zieva Konvisser,
Joan Chernoff Epstein, Beverly Fine,
Nancy Jonas; Renee May, treasurer;
Randi Simko, recording secretary.
Also installed during the ceremony
were the group presidents: Kimberly
Eder and Rachel Kamin, Amit; Carole
Aaron, Deborah; Caroline Gleichenhaus
and Marilyn Pickover, Hills; Paulette
Bonin, Masada; Beth Hirsch and Bonnie
Otis, Mitzvah; Libby Kaplan, Nurses
Council; Jackie Cohen, Roosevelt;
Kimberlee Rubin and Julie Solomon,
Ruach; Dorothy Eichenhorn and Anne
Sukenic; Sharon; Cathy Slavik and
Sherrie Stern, Tikvah.
Judi Schram received the National
Leadership Award. Elaine Sturman was
named Woman of the Year. Carole
Aaron, Paulette Bonin, Dorothy
Eichenhorn, Caroline Gleichenhaus and
Anne Sukenic were the Love of a
Lifetime Chapter Honorees for their
dedication to Hadassah for serving eight
or more years as group presidents.
Woman of the Year group honorees
were Hilda Sonenklar, Bea Breiner, Zita
Kirsch, Rebecca Weiss (in blessed mem-
ory), Gail Katz, Rachel Kamin, Linda
Golding, and Debbie Cohen.
Co-chairs of the event were Brenda
Altus and Patty Moss.

Chernobyl Concert Slated

Co-chairs of Chabad's Children of
Chernobyl Rae Sharfman and Phyllis
Meer announced that Linda Klein will
be the honoree for the benefit concert
this year.
Klein is a gerontologist and nursing
home administrator by profession. She
serves on the Jewish Federation commit-
tees for Jewish eldercare services and the
education community subcommittee.
Recently, she was appointed to attend
the GOP national convention by
President Bush and is the first Orthodox
woman to receive such an appoint-
