they will have a powerful subject as
they plan for Meadow Brook
Theatre.
The prestigious Ryder Cup
Matches — with competing
American and European players —
are set for Sept. 14-19 at Oakland
Hills Country Club in Bloomfield
Township and are part of initiatives
to help raise funds for local chari-
ties, including the Michigan
Chapter of the Arthritis
Foundation, Children's Charities
Coalition and the Detroit

Symphony Orchestra.
"We are working with John
Manfredi, who oversees Meadow
Brook Theatre, to figure out what
material to create just for that pro-
duction," says producer Eric Krebs.
"We want to incorporate some-
thing local into a song."
The Ryder Cup Matches, which
began in 1927 and have been
scheduled on courses in the United
States and Europe, not only bring
trophies to players, but golf fans
are urged to participate in ways
that help bring funds to special
groups. The last two initiatives
described below are sanctioned by
the Professional Golf Association of
