Mara completed her fellowship in
spine medicine and pain management at
the University of Florida and is joining
private practice.
Paul serves with the United States
Marines and is completing his law
degree at the University of Florida.
A sunset wedding is planned in St.
Petersburg Beach, Fla., in May 2005.

Joshua Karchin, son of Paul and
Barbara Karchin, was called to the Torah
as a bar mitzvah with the Grosse Pointe
Jewish Council at the United Church of
Grosse Pointe on Saturday, Aug. 7.
Rabbi Nicholas Behrmann conducted
the service.
Participating were
Joshua's parents,
Barbara and Paul;
sister Leah; grand-
parents Eleanor and
Joseph Feitler of
Oak Park, Ill.; and
great-aunt and uncle
George and Talu
Glauber of
Beachwood, Ohio. Louis and Julie
Karchin of Short Hills, N.J., also helped
celebrate. Joshua is also the grandson of
the late Isadore Karchin and Ida
Karchin and the great-grandson of Gusti
Glauber of Forest Hills, N.Y., and the
late Emil Glauber.
Josh is a high honors student and will
be a junior at the- Arts Academy in the
Woods in Warren.

Samuel Roche will read from the Torah
on the occasion of his bar mitzvah,
Saturday, Aug. 14, at
Temple Israel. He is
the son of Julie
Wayne and Andre
Roche and the step-
son of Marc Jnillard.
His very proud
grandparents are
Maureen and Dr.
Leonard Wayne and
Dr. Lise Roche.
Sam attends school in Paris, France.
As part of his mitzvah projects, he
helped at a food kitchen.
