• Nobel Prize winner Dr.
Leland Hartwell used a Komen
grant to study cell cycle regula-
tion and cell division.
• 2004 — $32 million for
research in prevention, early
detection diagnosis and progno-
sis; treatment and cancer con-
trol; survivorship and outcomes
research.
• 2004 — Ohio University
unit grant studies the role of
nitrates and nitrites in red meat
and how they contribute to
breast cancer.
