The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is on the look-
out for its own 'American Idol." From 3-9 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Max M. Fisher Music
Center, the DSO will hold the first-ever DSO Idol
Contest for singers ages 8-24, who will compete to
sing with the DSO during the 2004-2005 season.
All registered contestants will be scheduled for pre-
liminary auditions on Monday, July 26, from 9
