Cheers To Cap & Gown

I'm a retired kindergarten teacher from
the I3erkley School District and I look
forward to your annual Cap & Gown
edition (this, year May 21) where you
profile deserving graduates. I am always
happy to see many of my former stu-
dents. It makes me proud to see how far
they have come.
Congratulations to all of the graduat-
ing seniors. I am sure they have made
some kindergarten teacher happy, too.

In Support Of Israel

.

The June 24 American Israel Public
Affairs Committee event in West
Bloomfield was a resounding success
with 500 people attending and support-
ing AIPAC's extraordinary work fore
Israel.
Congratulations and thanks go to two
dynamos that drive the organization:
outgoing Michigan chair Dave Victor
and incoming chair Marc Weinbaurn.

Meals Are A Mitzvah

The National Council of Jewish
Women, celebrating 30 years, gave a
luncheon honoring the volunteers who
work for Meals On Wheels.
NCJW is the umbrella for the meals
program and other projects for seniors.
It is a great organization: The luncheon
is great because you see the folks who
work on different days. There is a great
friendship.
President Sheila Guyer spoke and
guests also praised the volunteers who
work Monday-Friday packing and deliv-
ering meals for seniors. Rain or shine,
they are dedicated. Also honored were
the volunteers who are past 90 and are
doing the work.
When you are asked to help, get into
the swing. You make friends and do a
mitzvah. May NCJW continue with its
great work.
