Art Director
In this newly created "hands-on" position, the applicant will be
responsible for the overall visual appeal and look of the weekly
newspaper, and all other Jewish News products including special
sections and supplements. He or she will work closely with the
editors and reporters to incorporate major conceptual and design
ideas to fulfill the Editorial Department mission and culture through
active planning and participation.
The qualified applicant must be able to effectively work under
pressure, juggle multiple projects with multiple deadlines and col-
laborate with other employees and departments as required. He or
she must have previous experience in the publication design
process and have strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
Expert proficiency in Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop on a MAC
platform is required. A degree in graphic design is preferred.

Graphic Designer
At part of a talented creative services team, this position is
responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality for the design,
layout and production of retail and classified advertising for the
weekly Jewish News and its supplements.
Applicant must have experience in a MAC environment with
extensive proficiency in publishing software including Quark,
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. In addition, this position requires
the ability to effectively work under deadline pressure with atten-
tion to quality and detail, effective communication skills to suc-
cessfully collaborate with other employees and departments, and
the ability to juggle multiple projects with multiple deadlines.
