Congregation B'nai Moshe will offer a
variety of Torah study opportunities this
summer for adult learners through its
Kolel Moshe Lifelong Learning Institute.
These classes and special learning
events are open to the community. There
is a charge for most Kolel Moshe classes,
but some are offered free of charge.
Kolel Moshe will also welcome Colby
College history professor Howard
Lupovitch for a series of summer lec-
tures. On three Tuesday nights; starting
July 6, Professor Lupovitch will present a
three-part lecture series titled "Who
Killed Jesus? Defending Judaism Against
the Claim of Deicide." Each session will
examine a different historical period and
will be self-contained. Tuition is $10 per
lecture. Pre-registration is not required.
Kolel Moshe's continuing study series,
"Lunch and Learn on Yom Sheini," every
Monday at noon, will feature a study -ses-
sion with Rabbi Aaron Bergman on
"The Art of Marc Chagall" on July 12,
followed by a four-part series on "The
Role of Women in Judaism" taught by
Ruth Bergman beginning July 19 and
concluding August 9.
Each Monday noontime session is
self-contained and can be attended sepa-
rately. Tuition is $5 per session at the
door. Students may brown-bag a dairy or
parve lunch.
"How to Leyn Torah" will be taught
by Cantor Earl Berris Thursdays at 1
p.m. Advance registration is requested.
